In such instances, I usually sympthasize with the individuals.

On the surface of it, if I hadnt read all this, I think i would assume that the $6 security deposit would be returned to the taxi drivers at the end of a certain period. And on top of that, at the end of 5 years, they would get a $11k bonus. Naming the return of that $6 deposit as a bonus is certainly very misleading. Also, the taxi drivers are losing the interest they would have earned on these $6 that they are giving to the company.

Of course, I wanted to go on about how the union here is er... linked to the ... P*P etc etc.. might not take the same stand as me... but I wouldnt want our forum owner Mr Ng to go to jail for not moderating my comments right.

If you want a link to PAP, you have to look at Comfort. These small-time operators are merely to break Comfort's monopoly. Apparently it's not so easy.

I really like what the manager said. He said, 'Anyway, by collecting the $6.03 daily, we are actually helping the cabbies to save.'. It sounds like the taxi drivers don't know how to save money, so the taxi company is doing them a favour.
