I have not seen math quizs' for many years, but do like to wok them. It keeps the mind young. Mine is 76 yrs of age. I think the reasoning behind questions similar to the "Chairs" belong in quizzes but only to guage a persons ability to work with numbers and to understand methods to arrive at correct answers. I would think they should not be on a "final" examination. By posing questions, like this, to a student early in a math course it would give an instructor information about what areas need to be re-inforced in the students learning process.
